With your help and commitment The Big Tree Project can achieve its goal of planting ONE MILLION TREES in the UK within the next 5 years. Perhaps even before the Olympics come to London in 2012! The Olympics might be good for the economy but growing trees is good for the environment.

With only 12% the land in the UK being woodland (compared to a European average of 32%) it is crucial that we take action to plant trees which will help reduce pollution, generate oxygen, store carbon, regenerate wildlife habitats and improve quality of life.

There are more than 60 million people in the UK - so even planting just one tree really can make a difference.
